Establishes a pool fire experimental platform with different ventilation modes based on the full-size heat release rate experimental table. Studies the influences of the air velocity, oil pan area, distance between air outlet and oil pan, orientation angle and diameter of air outlet on the heat release rate of ethanol fuel during combustion in the confined space. The results show that in the first and the second stages, the heat release rate increases with the increase of wind speed, while it decreases with the increase of the difference between the orientation angle of air outlet and 45° and with the increase of the air outlet diameter. The peak of heat release rate increases with the increase of the oil pan area, and decreases with the increase of the distance between air outlet and oil pan.
